and one weekend per semester
for recruiting trips. They also
are qualified to give campus

its Students.
The Foundation began with
Dr. Brooks who after a con-
verstion with Dr. McCall
President of Baylor University
thought it would be of great
value to HP. Dr. McCall at-
tributed their 2000 enrollment
increase over the past five

losV' Barton explained
Following her acceptance and
the selection of the Foundation
members an office location
was sought.
The foundation office is now
located behind the library next
to the swtichboard office. The
rooms have been repainted
carpeted furnished and
decorated with student and
faculty art. The office is open
each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"Bob Longshore secretary of
Texas Baptist Convention
Development office is largely
responsible for the Foundation
in that he has secured funds to
get us started" said Mrs.
Means. "Bob Harlan director
of the Baylor Foundation and
Carroll Fitzgerald BU senior
from Bangs and Sterring
Committee member have
provided ideas and advice to
help our foundation."
These were all present for the
Chapel program Monday.
Foundation members have
visited both Indiana and Baylor
Foundations to view their
programs. Next spring anu
from then on Foundation
members will be selected by
application and interview. Any
student who is interested is
encouraged to apply.
"The members will supply
the leadership but we want to
involve as many as possible now
through committee work" said
Mrs. Meant.
If you are interested in ser-
ving on a committee and would
like to know more about it call
the Student Foundation office
Ext. 239. You do not have to be
on the Foundation to serve on a
committee. Mrs. Means stated
"We have looked at several
foundations and what we want
to do is tailor the Howard Payne
Student Foundation to meet the
needs of this school and its
students."
It begins as the old teacher
Miss Worden and her students
wait for her replacement to
arrive wondering what " The
New Order" will bring.
The new teacher Irina who is
young attractive and carefully
prepared deftly moves the
children from personal ac-
ceptance of her to acceptance of
control.
"It is the thought-provoking
story of what will happen if we
lost the war by forgetting the
meaning of our Pledge of
Allegiance our prayers and
our family units" Barton said.
"The Department of Oral
Communications hopes with
this Bl-Centennial offering to re-
emphasize the basic values that
have made America great."
The production is scheduled
for p.m. daily Oct 1 2 and 3
in Coggin Theatre.
