Queen and Princess will
be announced Friday.
Queen nominees are
Sonia Hoffman Teresa
Cooper and Julie
Norwood. The princess
will be decided among
Kristy Snider Larissa
McCarver and Tammy
Buettner. Voting was held
Monday and Tuesday to
decide the honors.

Funny "Fools" put on show for HPU students and alumni

The curtain opens tonight on
Howard Payne's Homecoming
drama "Fools" a Neil Simon com-
edy. "It's a real funny silly farcical
play" said director Neil St. Clair.
Performances will be held at
the Brown County Homcmaking
Complex on Highway 377 located
next to the fair barns. The times of
the shows arc 7:30 p.m. tonight 8
p.m. Friday and Saturday and a 2:30
p.m. Sunday matinee. Tickets arc $4
for adults and $3 for students and
children. Howard Payne faculty staff
and student admission is free.
This will be the first perfor-
mance at the Homcmaking Complex.
For the past year and a half wc have
performed at Northridgc Baptist
Church" said St. Clair who is grate-
ful to those who took the drama de-
partment in when Coggin Theater
was declared unsafe.
Reservations can be made by
calling the box office at 649-8516
from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to
5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The theater department is ex-
pecting sell out performances so res-
ervations arc encouraged.

Clawson will make
grand appearance

The homecoming parade will
highlight the activities this weekend
uniting the campus and community
as organizations join together in a
fun-filled morning.
The parade will begin at 10
a.m. Saturday at the coliseum and ad-
vance down Center Avenue through
the Howard Payne campus return up
Fisk Avenue and end at the coliseum
where it began.
According to Ann Harris di-
rector of alumni and coordinator of
homecoming activities the highlight
of the parade will be the grand mar-
shal Cynthia Clawson. Clawson a
1970 graduate currently works in the
music industry. With 18 albums
Clawson has received both a
Grammy and Dove award for her ac
complishments. Also she sang the
title song tor the Academy Award
winning movie "The Trip to Boun-
tiful." Billboard Magazine has called
her "the most awesome voice in Gos-
pel Music."
Also a wide variety of entrees

are included in the parade. Fifty-four
entrees have been accepted from
Brown County Abilene Winters
Hamilton and DeLcon. Entrees
range from the Greek organizations
to antique cars.

The annual Homecoming
bonfire has new rules and
restrictions.
The old train depot near
downtown Brownwood has
been remodeled and
refurbished. Future
attractions will include
restaurants and shopping.

can be heard playing
several instruments along
with the vocals she
provides.
The Howard Payne
Telecommunications
Department has been busy
filming and editing a new
TV show. As soon as
equipment repairs are
finished the show will be

"Antz" have invaded the
theater and Jon and Tripp
have given movie-goers the
go-ahead sign.
