joined the Council tor Christian
Colleges and Umersities
'We are committed to inte-
grating taiih into the classroom."
said Dr. Rick Gregory university
piesident.
Three years ago Gregory es-
tablished a committee for the Inte-
gration of Faith and Discipline to
look into and make recommenda-
tions on how to better serve HPU
in its' endeavor to encourage aca-
demic Christian leadership.
"We were asked to look at
how we could integrate faith in
and out of the classroom and what
that means." said assistant profes-
sor of English and committee
member Millard Kimery.

ter we'll do it." said Bicknell "but
if what we have been doing is bet-
ter we will continue with it."
"Because the university is a
member all the students and fac-
ulty are eligible to participate" (in
CCCU activities) added Bicknell.
"Announcements will be made in
chapel about upcoming events."

band MercyMe
will headline
Encounter 2000.

Encounter 2000. formerly
known as Fall Revival is Septem-
ber 25-27 in Mims Auditorium at
10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Neil McClendon of
Sugarland Texas will speak and
rock-pop-alternative band
MercyMe will lead worship.
Tom Mosley. director of
leadership and ministries is coor-
dinating Encounter 2000. The new
title of the services "Encounter"
is also the theme for this fall.
"The goal is that it be an en-
counter with God every one of us
Christian and non-Christian" said
Mosley.
Accordingly MercyMe has
the same passion to see people from
all backgrounds encounter Christ.
"God wants to change our
hearts not our style" said Bart
Millard lead singer of MercyMe.
"No matter who you are or where
you come from God still loves us
all the same."
Mosley called the band sev-
eral months ago with plans to
schedule them tor this fall's ser-
vices. "Then lives are lives of in-
tegrity and that's why I wanted
them here." said Mosley

"I've been at a camp when
they led worship so I'm really ex-
cited" said Hochreiter.
Junior Eben Gourley added
that having MercyMe will draw
more students to services.
"They're a reputable group
and I think that will help the atten-
dance." said Gourley.
Mosley believes students
will also attend the services to
hear McClendon speak.
