Over taousasd people are estimat-
ed to have gone from the city yester-
day on automobile tours of the feder
al fields In the county and In South-
ecn Toung county.
A number of machines went to
Bhockleford county over the Albany
road to visit the vicinity of the Black
ranch well of the Texboma company
which came In week before last five
mlle northwest of Albany. Leases
axe now being offered In thut area
from $1.00 an acre up and a good
many being taken.
Several hundred people went to the
South Dend pool and to the vicinity
of the Hill wells of the Mid-Kansas
which hare been making sensational
performances vied with only In pub-
lic interest and attention in the north-
east territory by tho sensational five
fcanda development In the Houth llend
pools where fifteen new rigs were re-
ported erected during last week
bringing the total operating in thi Im-
mediate South llend pool to more than
100 at the present time.
A number went to Ivnn where
townslte rig erection Is now under
way with tha expectation that the
first well will spud In this week. The
town had the liveliest day In ltd his-
tory by rearon of the presence of the
visitors. Many of the latter went
northeast from the town of the Prai-
