To Church in 47 Yrs.
FORT WAYNE, lnd— The only
difference between a physician's
and veterinarian's watting office
is that animals don't finger ner-
' vously through the old magazines,
according to Dr.. V. K. McMalian,
an animal doctor.
Dogs, cat''* -"'d other animals re-
act much the same us people when
they visit their doctor profession-
ally. Dr. McMahan said they dis-
play nervousness and attempt to
pretend that they are not ill, but
merely paying a social call.
This type of patient usually has
a cold or nervous breakdown, Dr.
McMahan . said. And they get a.s!
much attention as a man or woman.
Animals even are placed under'
quarantine when they have n dis-
ease that is transmissable to peo-
ple—such as rabies,.'tuberculosis or
undulant fever.
Dr. McMahan said families
should be just as careful about ex-
posing their pets to their own
diseases. !

C'MtCAOO.—Approximately two- i
thirds of all the life insurance ia
the world, is owned by U. S. citi-
zens, says Claris Adams, president
of the American Life Convention,
an association of American life
insurance companies.
Adams, also president of the
Ohio State Life Insurance Co.,
Columbus, 0., said that at the end
of 1945, 71,000:000 Americans own-:
ed life insurance. That is more
than one-hulf the entire population
of the country.
Life insurance in force increased
by $-10,000,000,000 during the war,
he said. This represented $1,000
per family, bringing the family
average in the U. SI. to approxi-
mately .'s4,rj00.

Make This Home Recipe
To Take Off Ugly Fat
it's simple. It's amazing, how
quickly one may lose pounds of
bulky, unsightly fat right in your
own home. Make this recipe your-
self. It's easy;—no trouble at all
and costs little.. It contains nothing
harmful. Just go to your druggist
and ask for four ounces of liquid
Barcentrate (formerly called Bareel
prcs.-ure production to win a Concentrate). Pour this into a pint
w'kt with time to....consider more : bottle and add enough grapefruit
iart-tuiiy the exaei constructional juice to fill'the bottle. Then take
