Prairie Dog Is P-t
BOSTON* KntHryn Ha-
flise's landlord has started oeitrl
proceedings to evict her li'om her
apartment because she keeps a
prairie dog there.
Established in 1935, the Brecken-
ridge Mill & Elevator pays top
cash prices for wheat to supply
their needs and mills the high
test Breckenridge cream flour
which is on saL* at leading gro-
cery stores. Alex & Charles
Sommers, Props.
The establishment of the Bre-'k-
■nridge Mill Elevator here in
iiK;,") marked an important step in
! i ■ commercial development of
ihis city. It was a welcome addi-
ion to the growing and sizable
..roup ol manufacturing and u hole
ale firms which make Brecken-
ridge the supply point lor this and
adpoining counties. But ol even
.re.iter importance is the fact that
arms of this kind provide pay-
roll- tif lie distributed in the city
'I their location, a ready market
• or raw materials produced m that
-ei lion and add to the economic
'il'e of the entire community in
a Inch thc\ are established. For
thes« reasons the Breckenridge
Mill- A Kleavtor is an institution
of distinct value to the community
This firm mills Breckenridge
Cream Flour and in so doing they
provide a ready and convenient
lliarkel ofr wheat and other grains
produced lieer. Thus they elimin-
ate in thi' flour industry m this
-ection. the scn.-eless practice or
-hipping a raw product to some
distant city where it is milled into
the finished product and then
shipped back, as in many citscs, to
the origmal distinct from which it
cant".
Another feature of thi- firm's
that
can
bring iheir wheal to the mill and
exchange it for flour and leave
their flour there in storage, tak-
ing it out as they need it. Al cer-
tain seaosns. many farmers have
as much a- a years supply of I lour
on hand in this fashion.
In fact they are furnishing IL'SI
families within a radius of 10
miles with flour under this plan'
this year. Many of these came'
linn the Mineral Wells, Hanger,
itra-vn. Cisco. Albany, Graham
mil. Throckmorton trade terri-
tories and but for this service
would never come to Brecken-
ridge. j
Breckenridge Cream Flour is
handled by h ading grocer- in this j
vicinity and the manufacturing-
costs of the entire output, as rep-\
resented to a great extent by
I wages, i-, kepi in Breckenridge
and ultimately re-enters local
trade channels.
The owners and employee-. nr<
all Breckenridge people and the
firm itself is a substantial contri-
butor to city aid court> expense*,
through laxe on their plant a
thing which of com .• is c.ot true
of mills which are located else- ■
where but whose .products tire
marketed here.
The Breckenridge Mill and:
Elevator takc.> this opportunity toj
| express appreciation for busines.-.
extended them in the past five'
vears and to invite your continued
patronage in the future.
