heart attack and smothered his
two-year-old son who was in bed
with him early Sunda.s morning.
Dr. William Douglas Buchanan.
31-year-old Abilene chiropodist
'foot specialist', apparently sul-
Vered a heart attack early Sunday
and rolled over onto his son, Jam-
es Ross. 2. who had gone to bed
with him. The youngster suffocat-
ed .an attending physician said.
Thev were at the family home
1341 N. 17th St.
Dr. Buchanan weighed over 400
pounds.
Mrs. Buchanan found the two
about 6 a. m. Sunday after being a-
wakened by another son. Douglas.
7. Douglas called her and said he
couldn't get. his dady awake.
The young mother said Sunday
they had gone to bed rather late
Saturday night and the baby was
fussy. Dr. Buchanan suggested that
his wife place the baby in bed with

until Douglas cailed her.
