by unanimous consent, the names of
the Lieutenant Governor and Senators
were added to the resolution as sign-
ers thereof.
On motion of Senator Moore and
by unanimous consent, the resolution
was adopted by a rising vote of the
Senate.
Senate Resolution 10
Senator Word offered the following
resolution:
Whereas, Texans have been proud
of the natural resources of our great
State; and
Whereas, The Sheep and Goat In-
dustry is making the best utilization
of the productivity of almost one-
third of the land area of our State
in producing 20% of the Wool crop
of the United States, 95% of the Mo-
hair in the United States and 50% of
the world production of Mohair; and
Whereas, Through the cooperation
of the Mohair Council and the Sheep
and Goat Raisers Association it was
possible for the Texas Senate to in-
stall a new plush green carpet on the
Senate Floor, 50% of which is con-
structed with Mohair grown and pro-
duced in Texas; and
Whereas, Considerable cooperation
was given in the donation and collec-
tion of over five thousand pounds of
Mohair from the following firms and
individuals :

Senate will look and walk with pride
on the unique accomplishment of util-
izing Texas Mohair in making this
beautiful carpet; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Senate of the
State of Texas, that the deep appre-
ciation of the Senate be expressed to
the Mohair Council, the Sheep and
Goat Raisers Association, Warehouse-
men and Growers who participated in
this program and that the example
of this utilization of Texas Mohair be
spread far and wide so that the rich-
ness, the beauty and the enduring
quality of Mohair can be utilized to
a greater extent.

were added to the resolution as sign-

On motion of Senator Word the
resolution was then adopted.
Senator Word by unanimous con-
sent, presented Ross McSwain, Noel
Frey, Ryburn Crawford and James
Hunt representing the Wool and Mo-
hair industry of Texas.
The Members gave a standing ova-
tion to the distinguished guests.22
