The Senate met at 11:00 o'clock
a.m., pursuant to adjournment, and
was called to order by the President

the Journal of the proceedings of

Hon. Ben Barnes, President of the
Senate.
Sir: I am directed by the House to
inform the Senate that the House has
passed the following:
H. C. R. No. 4, Authorizing ap-
pointment of a joint committee com-
posed of five (5) members of the Sen-
ate and five (5) members of the House
to canvass the votes cast for Gover-
nor and Lieutenant Governor at the
general election held on the first Tues-
day in November, 1970; appointing a
committee to arrange for the inaugu-
ration of the Governor-elect and the
Lieutenant Governor-elect; expenses
incurred by the committee arranging
for the inauguration of the Governor-
elect and Lieutenant Governor-elect
shall be paid out of the Expense
Fund of the 62nd Legislature; the
State Board of Control be and is here-
by instructed to close all entrances to
the Capitol Grounds on Tuesday, Jan-
uary 19, 1971; the state parking areas
at Congress Avenue and 11th Street
be closed to all parking except those
vehicles approved by the Inaugural
Committee.
