THE BIBLE
Solid Ground
Which Is The
Greatest Of All The
10 Commandments
There are those who claim
to be Christians but consider
the Ten Commandments as
harsh and ancient laws which
applied only to Ancient Israel.
They think that. Christ came
to this earth 2,000 years ago’
with a “new law”’ — the law
of LOVE. Christ said that we
should love God with all our
heart and our neighbor as our-
self.
Did Christ come to this earth
to DO AWAY with His Father’s
commandments, as some seem
to think?
First of all, we need to see
whether the Ten Command-
ments really are such terrible
and strict laws for us to obey.
The first through third com-
mandments tell us not to have
any god before the true God,
that we shouldn’t worship idols
of any kind and that we shouldn’t
use God’s name in vain. Any-
thing wrong with that?
Continuing on, some of the
other commandments tell us to
honor our parents, not to com-
mit murder, not to commit
adultery, not to steal or lie,
and finally, not to greedily co-
vet the possessions of other
people.
Open your Bible and read
these laws for yourself in Exo-
dus 20:12-17.
Instead of being BAD com-
mandments as some presume,
these are all GOOD command-
ments, benefiting both us and
others when they are kept.
Even the most hardened cri-
minal or athtest would like for
OTHER PEOPLE to obey the
Ten Commandments, even
though he breaks them.
He doesn’t want anyone to
try to kill him, or go out with
his wife, or cheat him or steal
something from him. No, he
