DMFA League Events
5,000 Years of Korean Art
A spring trip to Kansas City and Arrow Rock, Missouri has been
scheduled by the DMFA League for May 6. The three-day
excursion will include a visit to the William Rockhill Nelson Gallery
to see a major exhibition, 5,000 Years of Korean Art, as well as a
private tour of the museum itself.
The visit to Arrow Rock will include the home of George Caleb
Bingham and the picturesque environs featured in his most
famous paintings, not the least of which is an 1834 tavern where
lunch will be served. The return trip via the Santa Fe Trail will
afford guests an opportunity to visit the Truman Library in
Independence where a mural by Thomas Hart Benton is on
display.
John Lunsford, Senior Curator, will accompany the League on the
trip. If you are interested in participating, please contact Kathy
Mullens, League Travel Chairman, 661-5447. Detailed information
will be mailed later to all League members.
"Three In Oak Lawn"
On Friday, April 10, the Museum League will tour the townhomes
of three art collectors in the Oak Lawn area. For more information,
please call Julie Armstrong, 421-4187. Reservations will be
required, and the tour will be limited to DMFA League Members.

than fifty regional artists. Peter Nickel, an instructor at the San
Antonio Art Institute, was awarded the Anne Giles Kimbrough
Fund Award of 1981 in recognition of his work in lithography.
Betsy Muller, who received her MFA from the University of Dallas
in 1981, was cited as this year's recipient of the Clare Hart
DeGolyer Award for her work in print-making and paper collage.r
