The weather was cool and
there had been enough rain to
keep the dust down as the two
tank battalions headed to the
field for battle. It was not a
battle in the classic sense of
the word but it was three days
of "paper war" for the 1st Bn.
6Gth Armor and 2nd Bn. 67th
Armor 2nd Armd. Div.
The two Hell on Wheels units
spent three days in the field
last week as the 1st Bn. 66th
When the Austin Aqua
Festival parade steps off on
the afternoon of Aug. 7 the
men of the 2nd Armd. Div.
will be well represented.
A 98-man marching unit from
the 2nd Bn. 41st Inf. is schedul
ed to pass in review during
the parade. A static display of
equipment also provided by tha
Cavalier infantrymen is to be
open for public inspection the
following day during an open
house at Bergstrom Air Force
Base east of Austin.
Along with the marching 2nd
Armd. Div. Band and a five-man
color guard from Hell on Wheels
Hq. Co. the soldiers will be
the only men from Ft. Hood
to participate in the two-hour
parade.

to be available for viewing by
the public.
The parade is one of the
highlights of Austin's annual
Aqua Festival. Brightly-colored
floats spirited bands and high-
stepping marching units are
combined to kick off the week-
long festival. Sailing regattas
championship races and canoe
races also are included in the
festival events.

For Rodeo
Aug. 3 is the deadline for
entries in the Belton Junior
Rodeo sponsored by the Belton
Riding and Roping Club.
The annual rodeo is scheduled
Aug. 6 7 and 8 at the
Belton rodeo arena.
First-place winners will
receive buckles and second
through sixth-place will receive
tack.
Sixteen events are scheduled
for youths through age 19.
