Hood Troop 300 attended the
Blue Bonnets Senior Con
ference this past weekend at
Camp HE Butts in Leaky
Texas. The girls also had
the opportunity to tour the
Texas Lions Camp for Crip
pled Children in Kerrville
Texas. About 100 girls from
the Blue Bonnet Councils at
tended the Conference. Ft.
Hood Girls Scouts attending
were: Miss Candy Herrman
Miss Diane Nash Miss Susan
Roderick Miss Janice DeVoll
and Miss Hernman. The girls
that attended the Blue Bonnet
Council were sponsored by

HAMBURGER STROGANOFF
2 tablespoons butter or mar
garine
2 small or 1 medium onion
finely chopped (about 2-3rds
cup)
1 pound ground beef round
1 teaspoon salt
Pepper to taste
teaspoon oregano
1 can (3 ounces) chopped
broiled mushrooms undrained
1 container (8 ounces) com
mercial sour cream
1 tablespoon catchup
In a 10-inch skillet melt the
butter. Add onion and cook
over moderate heat until gold
en-brown. Add beef salt
pepper and oregano mash with
fork until crumbly and beef
loses its red color. Add the
mushrooms including the liq
uid in the can the sour cream
and catchup stir well anl heat
but do not boil. Serve very hot
over rice. Makes 4 to 5
servings.

BARCLAY CONTEST
The City Federation of
Women's Club will emphasize
art for the 1972 Louzelle Rose
Barclay contest.
The annual contest was in-
itiaed in 1931 by Mrs. R. L.
Barclay for the purpose of
encouraging artists to continue
work in their chosen field.
Each year the contest features
literature music or art.
Art entries will be accepted
from residents of Bell County
including students at Temple
High School Temple Junior
College Central Texas College
and Mary Hardin-Baylor Col
lege. Also personnel at Ft.
Hood and Temple Veterans
Administration Center.
All art work entered must
be original and not previously
entered in a Barclay contest.
Paintings must be framed.
Entries must be received by
the art committee March 8-9
at the City Federation of
Women's Clubhouse 501 King
Circle. The work will be judg
ed March 10 and remain on
exhibit through the March 14
luncheon of the City Federa
tion. Winners will be an
nounced at the noon event.

Robey said she'd help the

Here then is a recipe
adapted from "For Gourmets
with Ulcers" for a Spaghetti
Souffle. It's a delicate dish
that the ulcer patient plus the
rest of the family can enjoy
as a welcome change. Non-
ulcer diners may like a
sprinkling of freshly ground
pepper or a tomato sauce with
the souffle.
SPAGHETTI SOUFFLE
Salt
3 quarts boiling water
8 ounces spaghetti
1/4 cup butter or margarine
V4cup flour
2 cups milk
5 eggs separated
Add 1 tablespoon salt to
rapidly boiling water. Break
spaghetti into small pieces and
gradually add to boiling salted
water. Cook uncovered stir
ring occasionally until tender.
Drain in colander.
lemon color gradually stir in
hot sauce. Combine sauce with
spaghetti cool 15 minutes.
Beat egg whites with y2 tea-
poon salt until stiff fold into
spaghetti mixture. Turn into
a buttered 2-quart souffle dish
or casserole.
Bake in a preheated 375-
degree oven until browned and
set in center 50 minutes.
Serve at once.
Makes 6 servings.

Born and raised in Lansing Michigan
WACameo Sgt. Constance Elaine Spice has come a
long way—literally.
Connie joined the Army in May 1969 and after
basic was sent to Ft. Lee Va. for supply school. She
was then assigned to Ft. Huachuca Ariz as a supply
clerk. It was while she was stationed there that she
was licensed to drive both a 2i/? and 5 ton truck
and received the sharpshooter medal for her pro
ficiency with a .45 caliber pistol.
In June 1970 Connie re-enlisted for the Defense
Information School at Ft. Banjamin Harrison Ind.
and was subsequently assigned to the Information
Office at Ft. Hood. She became NCOIC of the public
information section in November.
Reading sports and pistol firing are among her
favorite pastimes her reading includes history and
