Mr. & Mrs. John J. Keeter of Throckmorton
established this fund in 1958. Recipients
are to be selected by the following
committee: President of the Board of
Trustees, the President of Hardin-Simmons
University, and a member of the
Keeter family. Details are available
through the Financial Aid Office.
O. Clyde King Memorial Ministerial
Scholarship
This endowed scholarship was established
by Mrs. Margaret McMillan King
and her sons, Orville Clyde King, Jr., John
Wesley King, and Tom Morgan King, in
memory of the late O. Clyde King to provide
scholarship assistance to junior,
senior, or M.A. in Religion students attending
Hardin-Simmons University. The recipients
must have maintained at least a B
average in their studies in the Logsdon
School of Theology and a C average in
their other studies. The recipients shall be
of outstanding Christian character and
demonstrate both commitment and overall
competency for the Christian ministry.
Recommendations for the recipients of
this scholarship shall be made to the Stu"
dent Aid Committee by the unanimous
concurrence of the members of the faculty
of the Logsdon School of Theology, and
, the pastor of the Metropolitan Baptist
Church, Wichita, Kansas, along with the
approval of Mrs. King and one of her sons.
Each recipient shall have a conference
with the Director of In-Service Training of
the Logsdon School of Theology at least
once each semester for guidance,
encouragement to pursue immediately his
seminary education upon completion of
his college degree, and encouragement
in his ministry.

Scholarship for Mature Women
Returning to Education
A scholarship of $300 is awarded
annually by the Abilene Branch of the
American Association of UniversityWomen to a mature woman who wishes to
attend Hardin-Simmons University to complete
a degree. Its purpose is to encourage
women who have interrupted their
education because of home or other
responsibilities to return to school to complete
their education. The recipient must
have a 3.00 grade point average and must
present a written application defining her
educational objectives to the AAUW Fellowship
Committee by April 1. Information
may be obtained at the Financial Aid
Office.
Marvin Wayne and Hazel Wiggins
Lewis Endowed Scholarship Fund
Mr. and Mrs. E. Reuel Nash of Lubbock
have established the Marvin Wayne and
Hazel Wiggins Lewis Endowed Scholarship
Fund in honor of Mrs. Nash's parents.
Fifteen per cent of the income from the
endowment will be put back into the principal
of the fund to take care of inflation
with the balance of the income restricted
for the use of students attending HardinSimmons
University. The scholarship will
be awarded annually by the Student Aid
Committee.
Long-Bristow Scholarship Fund
This endowed scholarship has been
established by Bertie Bow Long of Lubbock
in memory of her husband, George
B. Long, and her parents, Dr. P. M. Bristow
and Vinnie V. Bristow of Stanton.
Income from this gift is to be awarded
annually by the Student Aid Committee in
conference with the Dean of the Irvin
School of Education. The award is to be
made to a junior or senior student in education
who is preparing to enter the teaching
profession and who gives promise of
becoming an outstanding teacher.
Albert G. Maroscher Scholarship
The Albert G. Maroscher Scholarship is
presented each year to a senior ROTC
cadet who has demonstrated outstanding
leadership ability. The amount of the
scholarship was $100 for the first year
(1970-71), and each subsequent award
will be $90. The recipient must have maintained
a GPA of 3.00 or above and be in
the upper 25 per cent of both his academic
class and the ROTC program. The
