PUBLICATIONS
THE DANIEL BAKER COLLEGIAN is published by a staff of editors
elected annually by the Student Association of the College. This publication
is literary in character, and is the organ of the student body.
Every student is not only invited, but urged to contribute to it
frequently.
THE DANIEL BAKER COLLEGE BULLETIN is published by the Faculty
of the College, and is a quarterly review of the life, work and
activities of the institution. It includes the catalog number each year.
THE TRAIL is the college annual, published by the Senior Class
each year. The first volume appeared in 1923. It is handsomely
illustrated and an artistic souvenir of College days.
THE Y. W. C. A.
THE YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION is a student religious
organization for girls, who meet weekly in an attractive Y. W.
room. This association not only looks out for local student life, but
also advances the work of the national organization. The Y. W. C.
A. is working for the re-formation of a college Y. M. C. A. The
local church co-operates along all religious lines.
THE SCRIBBLERS' CLUB
THE SCRIBBLERS' CLUB is an active writers' organization for college
girls interested in journalism or other forms of writing. The
club meets in two sections monthly, at which time members bring in
original compositions in poetry or prose. Much "copy" is furnished
to The Collegian, which is published weekly.
PHYSICAL TRAINING
Believing that some form of physical training is necessary for
health the college will require at least two years of physical training
for graduation. We have efficient Directors of Athletics and Physical
Training. Students may substitute Athletics in its various forms
for this class work upon approval of the Faculty Committee on
Athletics. Students who are physically unable may present a doctor's
certificate and be excused by the faculty committee. These courses
are required, but do not count as credit courses.
