this subject on his schedule for extra work. The Dean reserves
the right, upon the recommendation of any instructor, to prescribe
additional work in English for any student.
The Dean will act as an advisor to all freshmen and sophomore
students, but after the choice of his major is made each
student will take the instructor in charge of his major subject as
his advisor. No work should be taken by a student without consulting
his advisor.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Abilene Christian College offers but one degree, that of
Bachelor of Arts. The College is anxious to make this degree
standard and worthwhile. The candidate must meet the following
requirements.
1. Fifteen standard high school units must be offered for
entrance.
2. One hundred ninety-two term hours of college credit
must be presented, together with two hundred fifty-six
credit points.
3. Freshman and sophomore English must be presented
and three other hours that must be advanced.
4. Freshman Bible is required and in addition thereto, the
candidate must present twelve other hours. Students
entering with advanced standing from other colleges
must do one-ninth of their Abilene Christian College
work in Bible.
5. If the student builds his foreign language upon his two
years of high school foreign language he will be required
to do only eighteen hours, otherwise he must do
twenty-one in one foreign language or eighteen and
nine in two foreign languages.
6. Not less than eighteen term-hours must be offered in
Social Science. Courses in Geography, History, Economics,
Sociology, and Religious Education will be accepted
as Social Science. Three hours of this must be
in Modern American Government and six hours must be
in American History.
7. Eighteen hours of Natural Science, requiring laboratory
work, must be done. Young ladies may offer as much
as nine hours of Home Economics toward meeting this
