COMMERCE 210. An advanced course in shorthand for students
who desire to attain a high rate of speed; technical words,
letter form and phrasing are emphasized.
COMMERCE 211. A course in cost accounting. Records and
reports for the cost department, methods for allocation of overhead
costs. Records and principles, handling material, labor,
and indirect costs.
COMMERCE 212. Auditing procedure, classification of audits
and investigations, methods of verification of financial statements.
COMMERCE 213. How to teach commercial subjects.
DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS
Professor McDavid
ECONOMICS 101. A brief survey of the field of modern economics.
Special emphasis on the principles of production, exchange,
distribution and consumption. Attention is given to the
moral as well as the legal and political phases of the subject.
Three semester hours.
ECONOMICS 102. Problems. A study of Money and Banking,
Insurance, Tariff and Taxation, Agriculture and Labor Problems,
Transportation and Government Control of Industry. All- problems
studied with special reference to American conditions. Three
semester hours.
The following courses are open only to students who have
completed six hours in Economics:
ECONOMICS 201. Money and Banking. The origin and use of
money, types of money in use in the United States. The field of
credit in exchange. This course includes a brief survey of the national
