A graduate of

School, Julie pre-
viously worked
for nine years as
a bookkeeper
and teller with
First Texas Bank
in Belton.
“Ever since I
was a little girl
í’ve enjoyed get- -----------
ting out and
meeting new people,” she says.
“One of the best things about any
new job is the getting to know the
people you work with.”
One of Julie’s closest working
companions at the Home Office is
Ann Paruzinski. “Ann has been a
lifesaver. She’s so helpful and she
has a sense of humor. Thaťs a
wonderful asset in anyone’s book.”
Fun in the workplace is a good
thing, she says. “It helps a person
maintain a positive attitude. Thaťs
so important when you’re trying to
work with someone who may be
having a problém.”

sadness in this world,” Julie says.
“If you can laugh at yourself, it
makes living a lot more fun.”
When she isn’t at work, Julie
says that she and her husband,
David, enjoy “spirited debates” on
a range of domestic issues relating
to family finance and domestic

explains. “It
would be point-
less since I
always win.
“Seriously, we
háve a wonder-
ful relationship
and a beautiful
little four-year
old girl named
Sallie Joe,” says
Julie. “We trea-
sure the time we
háve together.”
In addition to working around
the house, Julie enjoys sewing,
hunting, dancing and talking on the
phone.
To dáte, Julie’s most memorable
Home Office experience has been
the night that she and several other
employees worked together at the
KNCT-TV public television station
telethon.
“It was a fun night. It was also
very memorable. With Ann behind
the wheel of the car, I dickťt know
if we would ever make it home.
Iťs not that she’s a bad driver. She
actually drives very well when
she’s lost.”

About our Featured Speaker
Tommy Engelke is associate vice president of the
Texas Agricultural Cooperative Council, a statewide
trade association of agriculture, electric, telephone
and water supply cooperatives. He is a Dále
Carnegie course instructor and a recognized facilita-
tor oflong range business planning exercises.
The SPJST Supreme Lodge has
authorized reimbursement for one
car per lodge to attend the work-
shop. Lodges receiving awards at
the Awards Dinner following the
workshop will be authorized reim-
bursement for one additional car.
Members interested in attending
the workshop should contact their
lodge president or secretary to háve
their name included on a registra-
tion form which must be returned
to us by March 1,1995 for accurate
count of attendees.

SPJST Presents 1994 Fraternalists
The SPJST congratulates all of
those members who were selected by
their local lodges as Fraternalist of
the Year for 1994. We commend
these members for making their
lodges and their communities better
places to work and to enjoy.
On behalf of the SPJST Supreme
Lodge, I am proud to announce that
Jerry Elzner of Lodge No. 79,
Corpus Christi, has been named State
Fraternalist of the Year for 1994. His
selection is a tribute to his dedication
to our Society, District Seven, Lodge
79 and his community. A detailed
account of his contributions to his
home lodge and to the Society will
appear in next week’s Vestnik.
Once again, congratulations to all
of the fraternalists who were cited by
their local lodges for their outstand-
