Texas State Teachers College
elected to Who's Who Among
Students in American1 Univer-
sities and Colleges..
The names of twenty seniors
and six juniors viho received
the honor were released by Miss
Laverne Walton director of stu-
dent life at SWTSTC. Eight of
these students had been awar-
ded the honor fast yctor.
Besides being of junior or
senior standing the students!
were required (to have excell-
ence and sincerity in scholar-
ship leadership and participa-
tion in extracurricular and
academic activities citizenship
and service to the school and
promise of future usefulness tx
business and society.
Wacker the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Alfred Wacker of 143 So.
Lucy is a senior majoring in
speech at SWTSTC. He is ac-
tive in speech department proj-
ects and was nominated for all-
college favorite by the College
Players this year. He plans to
graduate in May 1955.

ship in physical fitness tests
held by the 1st Armored Di
vision's 81st Reconnaissance
Battalion t Fort Hood Texas.
The tests referred to as P.
T." consist of pull-ups push
ups u 300-yard run ami other
events for a total 100 points.
Private First Class Brabondt
entered the Army last February
and completed basic training afc
Fort Hood.

Early Christmas
Mailing Program
Postmaster Elmer E. Cryer
today lannounced a three-point
.program designed to insure de
livery of all Christmas cards and
gift packages by December 25.

has moved into high gear. "Wo

gift packages should be mailed
