"The members of Alpha Chi
have proved by their past
achievements that they are capa-

in a speech to the Alpha Chi Nov.
14. Dr. Huff spoke to the group
on scholarship and achievement.
Royce Burrows presided at the
meeting. Treva Oglesby treasur-
er gave a frnancral report and

prayer.

Related Colleges
Dean Z. T. Huff is attending
the eleventh annual meeting of
the Texas Council of Church-Related
Colleges which is being held
at Texas Christran University in
Fort Worth November 21 and 22.
The piogram theme for the
convention of state-wide denomi-
national colleges is "The Church-
Related College and Higher Edu-
cation Today."
Dean Huff is vice-president of
the meeting. Rupeit N. Richard-
son of Hai din-Simmons Universi-
ty rs prcsrdent of the group.
"The Questron of Scholarship"
was the topic for a panel discus-
sion which Dean Huff was a
member November 22. Leader
of the discussion was Dean W. A.
Adams of Abilene Christian Col-
lege. Dean W. B. McDaniel of
McMurry and Dean Emerrtus

tion Cadet Selection Team will be

Room Veterans' Guidance Cen-
ter. According to Maj. George
Owen who is making arrange-
ments for the team this visrt is
one of the many bemg made to
accredited college campuses thrs
year by U. S. Air Force offrccrs
to provrde college graduates with
infoimation on Air Force officer-
training. The Selectron Team
will be ready not only to answer-
all questions but also is equipped
to process any Howard Payne
men who qualify.
Owen stated that there are
three courses of trainrng being
offeied to qualrfred men.
1. Aviation Cadet Pilot Train-
ing consrstrng of one year of in-
tensive schooling in all phases of
aviation. Cadets recerve $105 per
month duimg training and upon
graduation are awarded commis-
sions as second lieutenants. Or-
dered to active duty as flying of-
ficers these men earn pay and
allowances amounting to almost
$5000 per year.
2. Avratron Cadet Navigator
Tiaining consists of a year's
schooling in the latest techniques
of nidai navigation. Cadets le-
ceive $105 per month duiing
training and upon graduation aie
awarded commissions as second
lieutenants. Ordeied to active
'.duty as flying off rcers these men
earn pay and allowances amount-
ing to almost $5000 per year also.
3 Air Force Officer Candidate
School consists of six months of
training in administratrve and
technical subjects. Students-
men or women receive pay
equal to that of a staff sergeant.
Graduates are awarded commis-
sions as second lieutenants and
receive all pay and allowances
due that rank.

Why the Chimes Rang is a
Chustmas play. It is the stoiy
of the love for Chn.-1 and how
"It is love and self-sacnfice that
pleases the lord" and not "Gold
or silver nor nch pears." Then

this play. Those who have been
