ketball team will open its season
with two games in California on
Friday and Saturday. The Lady
Jackets will play Chapman the
team HPU beat 76-37 in last
season's second-round NCAA
Division III tournament game
at 7:30 p.m. CST Friday in
Redlands Calif.
On Saturday the Lady Jackets
will play at the University of
Redlands at 9:30 p.m. CST.
The HPU women's first
home game will be Nov. 26
against Sul Ross State.
The Lady Jackets open the
season ranked No. 2 in the

The event is being sponsored
by the Howard Payne soror-
ity Zeta Zeta Zeta. Tickets are

recordings of her speeches and
interviewed those who knew
her. In 1997. she began per-
forming her dramatic program
for audiences.
Zeta Zeta Zeta a social
spirit organization on campus
arranged Friday's program as
a ministry to the communi-
ty and the campus and as a
season in
team. Junior Midfielder Ashli
McCutchen and freshman
goalkeeper Nicole Pena were
voted on the honorable men-
tion team.
All four of the HPU men
voted to the all-conference
team were honorable-mention
selections: freshman defender
Wilfredo Larios sophomore
defender Hugo Uribe fresh-
man defender Ben Bishop and
sophomore midfielder Dennis
Benitez.
The HPU women finished
the 2007 season with a 5-11-1
record while the men finished
4-12-1.

Brown a 5-foot-7 junior
middle blocker from Tomball
was named recently to the
2007 American Southwest
Conference All-West
Division Honorable Mention
team.
The team was selected by
the 13 ASC head coaches.
The Lady Jackets finished
the 2007 season with a 9-20
overall record and a 3-15 con-
ference record.
