RE: Special Opportunity for Dialogue
This is an invitation for all of you, our colleagues in art education, to join us as participants in SERC's
offering on October 21, Schools, Museums, Art and Children: A Dialogue of States. Conversations will
be built around four brief episodes that were video-taped at classroom and museum sites in Texas and
Nebraska. Topics for the roll-in segments are:"Images and Ideas for Learning"
"Iearning in the Classroom""Strategies for Instruction"
"Leaning in the Museum"Four panelists who are the leaders of each taped segment will dialogue with each other about the action
episodes. Then, questions from the national audience will be solicited during breaks after each of the
four topics listed above. We urge you to join us in this dialogue by registering to receive the
teleconference and participate during phone-in opportunities. Possible issues that may generate
discussion include: Approaches to Supervision and Coordination, The Relationship Between the Art
Specialist and the Classroom Teacher, Operating Without an Art Specialist, Integration with Other
Subjects, Access to Museums, Education Transformation, Site-Based Management, and Difference in
Grade Levels and Student Populations. Panelists include:TEXAS
