Dear Jack and Bill:
On behalf of the trustees of the Edward and
Betty Marcus Foundation, I am pleased to send you
the enclosed check for $60,000.00 as the first
year's payment of a $225,000.00 three-year grant
to the institute.
The remainder of the grant will be paid as
follows:January 1993
January 1994$75,000.00
$90,000.00We are looking forward to having you visit
with us at the February 11 trustees' meeting. As
we discussed on the telephone, the trustees are
very interested in understanding the differences
between discipline-based art education and other
approaches. How does it actually work with
children in the classroom? How are the teachers
responding? Are school districts like DISD really
buying into the approach?
Thank you for sending the account of the
summer meeting. We are very interested in
arranging a meeting where some of the museums and
other organizations conducting teacher training
programs exchange ideas. We will be discussing it
more at our February meeting.
