MAN ON CAMERA
The Air Force today announced a 15-million-dollar
program to modify the wing carry-through box of
the
FILM IN HERE
F-111 aircraft. The program will start next month.
The Air Force also has lifted operating restrictions
on the F-lll, in effect since last fall when ground
tests produced a crack in the carry-through box,
which is involved in the plane's weep-wing operation.
General Otto Glasser, an air forced research and
development official, said today that the F-111 is now
a safe plane. The modification will cost around 100-
thousand dollars for each plane.:25
