Dear 'r.and 1rs.Commpton,
I intended to .,rite rou before we
left Mexico, but decided in view of the short time to wait
until I reached home with my head". It arrived in perfect
condition thanks to your expert packing, although I snagged
a stocking (an almost new Nylon) on it on the train.
Everyone thinks the head is the best
I have made yet. There seems to be a crack on the inside of
the head, but as it does not go through to the outside I do
not think it will affect the firing.
My paitings cause through very well,
also, stuck in one place on each, which I have remedied. I o
one can believe I accomplished so much including all tho cock-
tail parties, etc. in 12 days. Some of my friends expect to
go dov. next winter; they do not seem deterred by the meals!
Our snapshots turned out very well,
although those in the Pomarts garden are not so good as they
should be. The one of you two to-ether is splendid, also the
groups.
e have not received our colored slides
back from Eastmants, except for the first roll of IMonterrey. They
are fair, at least do not short evidence of the separation of the
lens.
The hamper arrived the Is.y after we did
and everything was intact except a couple of saucers that I bought
in the Sunday market at San .iguel. The egg cups and other cups
are almost perfect. The tin plates are much admired as :ell as
th: blouses and dresses we bought at La Favorita.
,Ve enjoyed shopping in Mexico City,
but there were too many tourists for pleasant sight-seeing. The
Xitz treated us royally as usual, no raise in prices and the best
service. . had some fine food at Tacuba and Acapulco Restaurants.
Freda has been rushed at the Board of
Education office ever since she returned, staying until 6 o'clock
almost every night. I have been so busy with income tax work,
I am sick of it already. I got my own and Freda's out of the way
so do not have to work Labor Day at the office.
e hope you locate son thing good in
a pleasant climate. .,e are keeping on the alert and will let you
know if we hear of anything to your advantage.
yes t --i:shes and man;, anks for your
kind e ss to us. . i er > or
