BEATING SC EESome 500 demonstrators kept police busy outside the
San Francisco hotel..where South Vietnamese Vice-President
Ky addressed a luncheon crowd.When rocks were hurled
by the demonstrators..police were forced to use tear
gas to break up the protest. While the main body of
demonstrators yelled for peace in Vietnam.....
a half dozen peaceniks cornered a San Francisco police
officer. They beat him with his own night stick..and
one youth..on the left of this picture..held a large
rock in his hand..and was about to bring it crashing down
on the officers head...but the policeman managed tobreak free........
