Governor Preston Smith said today President
Nixon's inflation-halting experiments have failed.
Smith appeared before members of the Credit
Union League...in convention in San Antonio. He
said, "The credit restraints have only forced upon
us higher and higher interest rates. The Nixon
administration has scuttled the wage-and-price
guidelines while proposing fiscal policies that
have increased unemployment."
Governor Smith said the current economic
policies of the administration are an obstacleto economic growth in Texas.
