La Paz..the capitol.? Bolivia% air force..which
supports Left-wing General Juan Torres..sent a half-
dozen planes out to bomb the Presidential Palace.The
military occupying the palace..answered with anti-
aircraft fire. That group..supports Right-wing General
Rogelio Niranda..who led Sunday's revolt against
President Ovando.
The President..shown leaving the Palace under armed
guard..resigned and has sought asylum in the Argentine
Embassy.Ovando resigned to avoid bloodshed..but Wappears
to have triggered a power fued between the twoGeneral's..
both wanting control.
:.residents of La Paz fled the streets..
as machinegun fire raked the area near the palace..and
the city's airport closed to all traffic./f'0r
