V/0 SILAn Army helicopter pilot ---who had asked
for a discharge from the service as a conscienbious
objector---wa s court martialed at Fort Wolters
today.
Warrant Officer George Mclvor went into the
military court room at Mineral Wells today to
plead guilty to being absent with out leave and
for failure to report to duty bon time. But he
pleaded not guilty to the charge of disobeying an
order. He was found guilty on all three counts.
McIor wa s sentenced to a year at hard labor
without pay. He wa s not sentenced to a dishonorable
discharge.
Another Warrant Officer who was to have been
tried with Mclvor---asked that he be allowed to go
before a separate court. He'll be tried later.LEE: LIVE
Both men are Vietnam veterans.
