Dear Friend,
First I heard the good news.
Barbara Rosenberg had decided to be a candidate for Justice of the
Fifth District Court of Appeals at Dallas.
At the same time, the Fifth District Court bench in Dallas became
vacant. Naturally, I reached out for the best and appointed Barbara.
I first met Barbara in 1976 when she was a young Dallas attorney.
Over the years, I have grown to know her as intelligent, hard-working,
unfailingly dependable, ethical,- -and above all- -fair.
I knew herjudicial reputation made her the best choice for the Fifth
Disrict._appointment.
Then I heard the bad news.
Barbara's opponent in November is Republican Jack Hampton. He's
the judge who was censured by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct
because he believes some Texans are more equal before the law than others.
Jurists such as that are not a part of the New Texas.
Barbara has a bedrock belief in justice for every individual. We can't
affordQto loseher from this court.
I hope you will join me in assuring the success of her campaign.
Please send her a generous contribution today.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Ann RichardsNot printed or mailed at State expense
