ROY: LIVEThe largest telescope ever flown over the
earth will be launched soon by baloon from
Palestine -- in the east part of Area 5.
The Smithsonian Astrophysical observatory
said today the 40-inch telescope will be sent
aloft by a 250 foot diameter helium-filled
baloon. Launching is expected later this month
or early in September.
The telescope will seek the cause of
unexplained infared radiation at the center of
the milky way.: 25
