The career of visionary teacher, scholar, and artist Samella Lewis spans
ome 50 years and has taken her all over the world. As on artist and
>rintmaker, she remains at the forefront of her field. As on art historian,
er knowledge is boundless, unlimited and accessible. Born during the
era of segregation and Jim Crowism, Lewis came of age during one of
the most difficult periods in American history. For her, art uas a way to
