awards in 0344
Sherrod GealEd Sherrod and David Geal have
recently been presented Manager
of the Month awards in Mark
Smith's District 0344
Sherrod, manager of Store
9119-Alexandria, La., won among
all "01" managers. "Ed and his
crew won with the help of strong
CitiLine sales," commented DM
Smith.
Manager David Geal and his
staff at Computer Center 7067-Al-
exandria, also won an award.
"Among the ranked categories,
David reported 99% names and
addresses recorded," said Smith.
Congratulations to both gentle-
men on a fine month.unanges announced
DM George Ricks announces
the following promotions in District
0584.
Kazi Shakil, former manager of
Store 8409-Memphis, Tenn., has
accepted a post at brand new
Store 8187-Memphis. Replacing
Shakil at Store 8409 will be David
Flippo, formerly of Store 8455-
Bartlett, Tenn. Flippo will be re-
placed at Store 8455 by Diane
Wade. Wade was previously a
manager-trainee at Store 8462-
Memphis. Congratulations, Diane,
on receiving your first store.
Other managers taking on their
first stores in District 0584 are
George Gasparro, new manager of
Store 8424-Memphis, and Donald
Jackson, promoted to manager of
Store 8452-Memphis. Both were
employed as trainees in the
district.
The former manager of Store
8452, Rich Quinton has been pro-
moted to manager of Store 8443-
Memphis. He will replace Terry
Bass, who has taken a new
appointment at Store 8417, also lo-
cated in Memphis. Dick Thack-
ston, one of the Memphis senior
managers, has left Store 8417 to
take over Store 8406-Memphisin Mempnis stores
(Center City Shopping Center).
Monty Heise has taken over new
duties as manager of Store 8461-
Memphis (Mall of Memphis). He
leaves his former post at Store
8425-Memphis to new Manager
Dwight Black. Black was previ-
ously a trainee at Store 8461.Travelin' man
Fiscal Year 1983 was a great year for Der-
rel Palmer (right), manager of Store 9321-
Greenville, Miss. Besides going to Hong
Kong with his wife, Melinda (left), he was
also a winner in the Taste of Texas contest
earlier this year and won Leader's Club
honors for FY '83. Best wishes for contin-
ued success in fiscal '84, Derrel.Razorbacks accept TRS-80
Bob McGill (left), manager of Computer Center 7414-Little Rock,
Ark., and Sid Agent, Dallas regional educational coordinator,
present a complete TRS-80 microcomputer system, compliments
of Tandy Corporation, to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
Accepting on behalf of the university is Dr. Bill Nugent. Many
thanks to these fine Radio Shack employees on spreading goodwill
for the Company.

These four employees recently attended a seven-week course on
salesmanship and product knowledge in George Ricks' District
0584. They are (from left): Charles Suttle, salesmaker at Store
8462-Memphis, Tenn.; Diane Wade, former manager-trainee at
Store 8462-Memphis, now manager of Store 8455-Memphis; John
Lynn, salesmaker at Store 8409-Memphis; and George Gasparro,
manager-trainee, Store 8417-Memphis. Each received a cer-
tificate of completion for level one of the salesmaker course.
