WARD: LIVE A 73-yr old retired school teacher from Waco remained hospitalized
today. Clonch survived the ordeal Thursday morning..which
claimed the life of her 75-yr old sister..Mrs.Ruth Billingsley also
a retired teacher.Offichon said the sisters were driving home to
Waco from Oklahoma City Wednesday night.In the confusion of
traffic and s gns along 4 Dallas freeways..iluaft they made a
wrong turn.Inst* of heading toward Waco 6n Interstate 35...
they got onto Interstate 45..headed for Houston.The mistake
realized .the sisters left I-H-45..then travelled the back roads
of Ellis County in search of a connecting road to Interstate 35"
Their car became stuck in mud on a dead-end rural road near
Frris.In the freezing temperatures of yesterday morning..Mrs.
Billingsley left the car apparently to seek help.Early yesterday
morning..a passerby spotted the car.Mrs.Billingsley's body was
found 300-yards from the disable ..Miss Clonch was found
huddled inside,
