A federal suit tiled in Dallas charges that Rcckwall
County Sheriff W.J. Price force. an inmate to perform
worlk for private citizens and accepted money for the
prisoner's job. The plaintiff, James Edward Ramsey,
also says Sheriff Price is forcing him to serve a two
year sentence in the Rockwall County Jail although a
court ordered him sent to the state prison at Huntsville.
Sheriff Price has denied the allegations, saying Ramsey
had not asked to be transferred to Huntsville. Price
further says Ramsey obtained outside work through
personal contacts and kept the money himself.9
