JULY 4TH CELEBRATIONS
As the nation celebrates its 198th birthday
today, a number of activities are scheduled throughout
area 5.
Parades were held this morning in west Fort Worth,
Arlington, De Soto, Burleson, and in Corpell.
A bell-ringing ceremony was held at the Central
Fire Station in Fort Worth this morning symbolizing
the historic ringing of the Liberty Bell on July 4th,
1776.
Afternoon activities include a noon flag ceremoney
in Richardson, a watermelon festival at Flower Mound,
a traditional beauty contest in Azle and a not so
traditional "MALE" beauty contest in White Settlement.
The annual "Honor America" July 4th rally will
be held this evening at Birdville Stadium in Haltom
City. Guest speaker will be retired major general
