At Fort Worth't s Sycamore Pool, youngsters from
37 city playgrounds compete in the 20th annual
all-city swimming meet. And one of the early
races is the girls' free style in the 14 to 16
year old bracket,(WAIT FOR FINISH)
The winner of the event is
a pretty 16-year-old, Carol Beckman.
ANOTHER RACE
The 1+-to-16-year-old boys free style event gets
underway.
(WAIT FOR FINISH)...It's a close one, but the
winner is Raymond Rosendez who covered the 50
yards in 33 and a half seconds.ANOTHER RACE
Another not quite so formal, is the minnow
race for girls. The race is meant for those not
very adept at swimming although the contestants
may swim, walk, dog paddle'-- anything to make
their way across the shallow end of the pool.
