ESKIMO ART SHOW
A rather unusual art exhibition opens at the Carlin
Galleries in Fort Worth today.
It's an exhibit of
Cape Dorset Lskimo prints and carvings. Mrs. Electra
Carlin, owner of the gallery, says Jim Houston, the
great-great-great-grandnephew of General Houston,
brought the art works here. Houston has helped the
Eskimos turn their talents into a good business.CU PRINT
This stone cut is entitled "The Enchanted Owl."
WOMAN WALKS
Another stone cut, produced by an intricate hand-
made process, is called "Singing Women Sew A Kayak."SEVERAL CARVINGS
Also on display are several soapstone carvings, in-
cluding a walrus, seals, and otters. Houston, who
is living with the Eskimos as a Canadian government1:03
