Fort Worth zoo director Lawrence Curtis has a
a five thousand pound problem that's ten feet
high. The problem goes by the name of Penny,

a in..year-old elephant who's fed up with cabbages
and shows signs of being fed up with people.
MED. CLOSE AFTER CROWD
She even knocks around the guy who feeds her.
Attendant L. B. Hefner says he's had enough of
that. If Penny wants her cabbage, she can
chase it.
MED. ELEPHANT
Penny doesn't know it, but her arrogance has
got her a one way ticket out of the zoo'selephant house.
The Park Bcard has given
Curtis the okay to dispose of the animal on
his recommendation that Penny is becoming
hazardous to handlers.
