Both of the boys are wearing white button up shirts with rolled up sleeves and short, light colored pants. Byrd III is holding a stick in his right hand and has his other hand resting at his side. John is holding the family's dog Brownie under his front legs so that he is standing up on his hind legs. The tent behind them has two poles in the center with a piece of fabric thrown over them. Both of the boys are wearing white button up shirts with rolled up sleeves and short, light colored pants. Byrd III is holding a stick in his right hand and has his other hand resting at his side. John is holding the family's dog Brownie under his front legs so that he is standing up on his hind legs. The tent behind them has two poles in the center with a piece of fabric thrown over them. The edges of this fabric have ropes attached that are staked to the ground. The ground around them is very rocky with sparse grass.
