ARNISTAD DAM 3:20
The huge Anistad Dam is taking shape along the
Rio Grande northwe;is t of Del Rio. When completed
in 1968, the dame will.stretch six miles across the
Rio %range into Mexico. Towering 235 feet in the air,
the dam will ornate a lake of five and a half million
acre feet, and will back water up 78 to 110 miles
upstream. Cost of the project is 110 million dollars.
The lake will submerge the area wher Devil's Riverjoims the Rio Grande.
