BLUEBONNETS 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1Each springs, the green pastures
of Ellis County take
on a tinge of blue. Then, almost overnight, the
countryside is a blanket of bluebonnets, the official
flower of the State of Texas. And Ennis begins the
task of receiving thousands of visitors to the annual
Bluebonnet trails. The trails will be open this
weekend and the next. Four trails have been
designated and marked by the Ennis Garden Club.

The bluebonnet was adopted at the state flower in
1901. Lovers U of the flower say it is a happy
coincidence that the bluebonnet is usually its
prettiest about April 21st, San Jacinto Day. Phyllis
