CAMPUS SCENE
The usual spring calm prevailed on the
campus in Dallas today until the Mustang BandSMU
struck
up a tune to signal the arrival of Comedian Bob Hope.;,
The mayors of Dallas, University Park and Highland Park
proclaimed today Bob Hope day, and SMU turr out in
full force to welcome the veteran comedian to the
campus. The purpose of his visit this afternoon
groundbreaking ceremonies for the Bob Hope Theater, a
part of the university's Owen Fine Arts Center. Hope
donated 302'thousand dollars toward the cost of the
theater. He got some of it back tonight when he
presented a show at the SMU coliseum.
CLOSEUP HOPE SITS
The comedian wasn't the only gagster in the
crowd. As he sits in his chair on the platform, he
pops right up again and upon examination)finds a tack
