The lingering dispute over who should do what at Forest
Perk Zoo is going to be with us another 30 days at
least. The Fort Worth city council came close to making
e decision this morning. But not close enough.
Mayor pro-tem Sarsgard, chairman of a committee which
has been investigating the fued between the Zoological
Association and the Perk and Recreation N
reccommends that the city cancel it's concessions con-
tract with the zoological association. Under his
continue to
proposal, the association would provide
animals for the zoo and plan major projects. But all
control of the zoo would be with the Park and Recrea-
tion Board.
Councilman Dunham makes a motion that the contract be
W canceled, but that the cancellation be delayed
10 30 days to give the two groups more time to settle
their differences.
Councilman Hoover is against canceling the contract,
and he makes a motion to table Dunham's motion for
