The announcement of Sam L
Green, Esq., as a candidate for re
election to the office of prosecuting
attorney of the 25th judicial dis-
trict, appears in this issue. Mr.
Green has made such an enviable
rqcord as prosecutor that it is ^
needless for us to say anything in
his favor. Wes need more men
like Sam Green. Let us cast our
ballots for him. He is for the
right, he is for law and order. He
courts neither favor nor fears con-
demnation. Such a man is the
right man in the right place.
Precinct Chairman J. P. Ellis
will hold the June 6th primary in

During the democratic conven-

Hermann promised to furnish the
Herald with the full official pro-

going to press we have failed to
hear from him. The convention
was a stormy one and for that
reason the Herald prefers to give
its readers the official proceedings,
duly signed by the proper author-
ities.
When Chairman Ragsdale’s call
appeared in our last issue rumors
of dissatisfaction were soon heard,
and the result was a citizens’ meet-
ing, largely attended, in which it
was resoiyed that the call did not
give ample time (only two days);
that if the democrats of this pre-
