Oil Workers Seek
36-Hour Week
DENVER. Colo., Feb. 28 <UPi—
A return to the 36-huur work
week in the petroleum industry
wa: urged today by leaders of
Hu- C’lO Oil Workers International
Union.
The 36-hour week was standard
in the industry until World War
II, when a 48-hour week was in-
augurated. Since the war, the 40-
hour week has become general.
"We want the government to
bring the same degree of pressure
on the companies to return to the
36-hour week that it brought on
our union before the war to go up
-III hour week. O. A Knight,
president of the union, said.
The reason for requesting the
•holier work week, officials said,
was because "thousands of oil
worker? are being laid off "

• INS!—In all mv experience in
zoo work 1 have taken part in the
capture of many wild animals hut
this is by far mv most harrowing
experience.
But I was never scared beta use
I couldn't afford to think of dan-
ger. I was the man responsible for
recapturing this leopard.
The main thing was we had
him and we had to act quickly
When we climbed onto the ledge
around the pit from which he es-
caped and found him in the hole
in the tunnel we had to devise
plans to get him out.
First I poked him with a IS
foot pole. He was 12 feet back in
the tunnel, as far back as possible.
When he began to move a little.
we put a noose n .a* n.-i i.i
