The MeMurry attack fared
better than the shutout would
indicate. The Tribe threaten-

three fumbles of four bobbles
were too costly. Carrying
the weight of the backfield
chores were Buddy Fornes.
Billy Davis. BUI CanlweU

SCORES TO NO AVAIL Billy Anderson MeMurry back
scored the Tribes only tally against ACC last week only to have
the play nullified by an offsides penalty. First Jim Bales grabbed a
deflected Wildcat pas sand raced toward paydirt but fumbled. Then
Anderson scooped it up and went over to no avail. The Gatesville
soph will see plenty of action against the Texas Tech B team in Lub-
bock tomorrow.

Then Billy Anderson retrieved
the pigskin and crossed only to

a backfield-in-motion penalty.
Kiva Ko Sari Clash
In Dual Homecoming
Fanatical screams of "Kill
Ko Sorry" and "Klobber Those
Kiva-lites" will be the order of
the day when Kiva and Ko
Sari men's social clubs tangle
in a double-Homecoming in-
tramural grid battle Monday.
Strictly a grudge match
the contest is to be unreeled on
the intramural football stad-
ium just northwest of Gold
Star Dorm.
Both clubs expect thousands
of exes back on the campus to
witness the ancient rivalry and
Abilene police will naturally
be on hand to handle the ex-
pected overflow crowd and to
settle riots
Last year's spectacle saw a
defensive clash wtih the game
ending in a 0-0 deadlock Kiva
Coach Richard "Knute Rockne"
Adams is sure "There'll be
some scoring Monday" while
there's only a coy "no com-
ment" from behind the Ko
Sari Iron Curtain.

Play Football-
It's Healthy
The old belief that football
plajers get fat and stait going
to seed as. soon os they quit play-
ing football has been shattered
bv a study at Michigan State
college
The survey compared athletes
with non-athletes It showed that
at graduation the average weight
of athletes was 189 pounds the
average weight of non-athletes
159 But during a period of from
15 to 25 years the athletes gain
an average nine pounds while the
non-athletes gain 16
The study also found that medi-
cal ailments are more common
among non-athletes
Russians Say They
Invented Baseball
The Russians are now claiming
that they and not Abncr Double-
day invented the game of base-
ball A Soviet youth magazine
told its readers that "beizbol" is
not American but just a distor-
tion of the Russian village sport
called "lapta" which was played
centuries before there was an
American on the map
American baseball said the
youth magazine is a "beastly bat-
tle and bloody fight with may-
hem and murder."
It said also that the players are
slaves who are bought and sola
like sheep. Then when the play-
ers are worn out and usually
crippled as a result of injuries
suffered on the playing field
they are thrown out on the streets
to die of starvation
Richard Nixon was last Week
elected treasurer of the Young
Democratic club at the University
of North Carolina. He is a dis-
tant cousin of the Republican
vice-presidential nominee.
