Mr. and Mrs. Calvert were visit-
ing in Oklahoma at the time of
Garrett’s sudden disappearance.
Perry Brothers authorities when
interviewed this week stated that
all of the store records up until
Saturday afternoon when Garrett
made his usual daily bank deposit
have checked out satisfactorily.
However, reliable sources have
said that when the store was open-
ed Monday morning, all change
and other monies in the store with
the exception of personal check*
were missing. Garrett had permis-
sion from store authorities to hide
all change, and other monies in an
out-of-the-way place over the week
end. An invenotry taken of the
store following his disappearance
is said to have failed to reveal any
of the missing money.
No charges, have'been filed with
4aw officers other than to put
out a missing person’s bulletin.
Authorities of Perry Brothers have
stated that it is not their intention
to rile any charges until a satis-
factory explanation of Garrett’s
disappearance is found.
Garrett’s father of Navasota,
Texas, has spent seven* days in
Grand Saline seeking an explana-
tion to his son’s sudden disap-
pearance. This past Tuesday, he
stated that he had received no word
from his son.
