are in attendance, among them
being Congressman Berger, Emil

they were more reasonable in their
charges than 1 expected. The
hackman who took us to toe de-
pot asked us very impessively if
we had ever heard of the Appeal
to Reason and we admitted hav-
ing heard of it once or twice. He
then still more impressively in-
formed us that he had the edi-
tor "si Mr. Warren, grip on his
bus. So we found out that War-
ren was going back home to Gi-
rard, and as we were on our way
there to see the Appeal plant we
met Mr. Warren pt the depot at
Ft. Scott. He is the best fellow
you ever saw in your life. He
made Ernst and* myself go to his
home where we met Mrs. Warren
ancj, the three little boys. They
have a beautiful home and all
treated us very nice. E. R. and
Mr. W. went down to the Appeal
office and Mr. W. insited that I'
should “rest”. They later came
hack in Mr. Warren's large tour-
ing car and he took us for a ride.
It started to rain soon ijfter and
so we stopped at the Appeal of-
fice. That printing plant is some-
thing wonderful. Say, A. C„ I
wish you could have seen it, it
ieats the New Era or Rebel all-
right, allright. The wrappers go
so fast you can t keep up with
them and the /mailers beat the
wrappers. They pript air edition
of over 9OO.OOO in this pffice each
week arid two weeks ago the to-
tal edition was nearly 5,000.000
copies of one issue of the Appeal.
We also met Ryan Walker, the
great cartoonist. We ate dinner
with Mr. and Mrs. Warren and
caught the 12 o’cloek train for
Ft. Scott.
Fort Scott.—We stayed here
all afternoon and then caught the
Katy for St. Louis and from there f
we go direct to Indianapolis. The I
trip so far has been allright and
you can tell them the Katy flyer
can fly. The country, especially
in Oklahoma is beautiful. The
high hills were something new to
Texas plaindwellers like Ernst
and myself. We saw dozens of
oil wells and passed close to some
pf them,

The information has reached the
writer thatysome mischievous boys
at the May feast lately cut some
harness, stole several pair of gloves,
buggy whips and a lap robe. Now,
we don’t see what good it does for
anybody to do such mean things as
these. Why don’t they behave
themselves like all good people do ?
W ell, just be quiet .and then we
will (^atch such bold “suckers” yet.
