The Hobba well has been spud-
ded in three miles south of4 Gra-
ford. The geologist map and reports
ties this well up with the Dy test
made one mile southeast 16 years
ago when oil was found at a depth
of 31 10 to 3156. This well made
oil through a jammed pipe and
two sets of tools lost in it. Hopes
are bright for a good well in the
Graford community and much en-
thusiasm is being shown. The
Hobbs well now being drilled on
the Holt Ranch is just 3jmiles from
Graford. A well is also being
drilled on the Bailey ranch near
Graford.

election in Mineral Wells by a
majority of two votes over his
opponent, Charlton Brown, present
mayor. This was thefclosest race
in the history of Mineral Wells for
the office of mayor. The vote was:
Miller 540, Brown 538
It was stated tnat eleven ballots
were not counted due to being
classed as mutilated and that only
1078 out of the 1089 votes cast
were counted. A thorough check
will probably be made to see
whether any of these votes should
have been counted or not.
